The
Chapel has been in use for nearly 50 years. We think that's a
wonderful milestone and we want to celebrate it. We're arranging
a special time for this.
Keep
the weekend of October 29-30th free. If you come from out-of-state
or from the country, contact us - we may be able to help you find
accommodation.
Have
you had ties with the Chapel in times past? Then "pull
out all the stops" to be here at the Chapel for this time
of celebration. If you can't be here, send us a note, a
video clip, an email or whatever, to be brought to the gathering.
Maybe you've got some old photos of events or people at the Chapel.
Send them to us - we'll scan them and screen them with a data
projector.
Saturday 29th October. A special tea. This will start at 5 pm but be earlier if you like - there'll be opportunities to 'yak' to friends from long ago. The main meeting will get underway at about 6:30 pm and have a 'looking back' theme. A light supper will conclude the evening. We will provide all the food; just come prepared to eat, to talk and to contribute.
Sunday 30th October. There will be the usual worship and communion format at 9:30 am, but a different heart I'm sure. The usual 30 minute morning tea break will be unusual and followed by a special time at 10:45 am. when we'll be 'looking around'. There'll be a lunch at 12 noon (again, supplied by The Chapel) with a final service 'looking ahead' at 1:30 pm. The speaker for all three programmes will be Mike Taylor, a well known and loved character whose attachment to The Chapel goes way back to the days of his youth!!
Hope
to see you there - watch this page for even more details coming....
